Technology Workshop: Online Privacy & Security

TechnologyWorkshop

The convenience of online tools is great, but what security and privacy issues come with it? This workshop will discuss the risks of using online services, and provide concrete, practical steps to help protect your privacy, including password managers, alternative web browsers, ad-blockers, and other settings and tools.

Hannah Cyrus, Digital Media Librarian, will offer this class in-person in the computer lab at the Bangor Public Library from 2:00-4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6. In-person attendees are encouraged to bring their own devices, or library laptops will be available. Virtual attendance by Zoom is also possible. This class is free, but space is limited, so registration is required. To register, use our online form below, or call Hannah at 922-6055.

The library offers regular technology workshops on different subjects. All workshops are free of charge. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computer or device if they have one they want to learn on, or use one of the library’s computers if not. For more information, contact Hannah at 922-6050 or hannah.cyrus@bangorpubliclibrary.org.
