This beloved cultural resource offers more than just books – although there are plenty of great things to read here, of course. There’s lectures and workshops for adults, art exhibitions, children’s storytimes, teen book clubs, gaming clubs and other regular programming.

Downtown Bangor is for everybody, whether you’re 1 or 100. There are ample opportunities for the littlest folks to the grownups that are with them to have fun all year long! Downtown Bangor’s beautiful community gardens, grassy parks, interesting architecture, and beautiful public art make it a wonderful place for families to enjoy unstructured time together.

Downtown Bangor has plenty of family-friendly places to shop, including a beloved independent bookstore, a toy store, bakeries, arcades, and many retail locations have goods that delight the child in all of us! In addition, the Bangor YMCA, Maine Discovery Museum, and Bangor Public Library are wonderful stops for the entire family.
