The Downtown Bangor Partnership is proud to introduce the Umbrella Sky Project for the summer of 2023, sponsored by Northern Light Health, Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Inspired by Mary Poppins, the Umbrella Sky project transforms public spaces with an air of whimsy. Designed to visually entice visitors from Main Street to venture up Cross Street to Columbia Street, the colorful canopy and unique shadow pattern will provide a colorful and artistic destination for residents and visitors alike.
Hosting Umbrella Sky in downtown Bangor will place Bangor on a map of international locations including Bahrain, Portugal and France and be an economic driver drawing visitors from Main Street to Columbia Street, enhancing and encouraging the pedestrian experience. There is no doubt that our youngest visitors to the Maine Discovery Museum will enjoy the whimsical display.
