Technology Workshop: Freeze Your Credit

TechWorkshopCredit

Freezing your credit is a basic step that anyone can take to secure their financial well-being and help prevent fraud and identity theft. This workshop will guide attendees through the process of creating free online accounts at all three credit agencies and taking the steps to put a freeze on their credit so that nobody can open a new credit account in their name. There’s no cost to place or lift a credit freeze, and it doesn’t affect your credit score. This security step can save much time and trouble, and is easy to reverse later if a new line of credit is needed!

Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices if they have one they typically use, but the library will provide laptop computers if not. If you would like to attend this workshop but do not already have an email address, please contact Hannah at 922-6055 ahead of time to work to create one before the class, as it is required for this process.

The library offers regular technology workshops on different subjects. All workshops are free of charge, but space is limited, so registration is required to attend. Register using the form below to attend in-person at the library, or online via Zoom.
