While you rest comfortably in savasana, Kate Mikkelsen’s nourishing Yoga Nidra meditation will guide you through deeper levels of consciousness so that you can rest your mental, physical, and emotional layers, allowing you to attain greater relaxation and awareness as sound healing practitioner Sen Wilde creates a series of crystalline sound waves and harmonic vibrations to bring the mind and body into balance.
Yoga Nidra has been shown to improve sleep quality, help with insomnia, ease headaches and migraines, improve immune function, decrease anxiety and depression, decrease pain, lower blood pressure, improve symptoms associated with diabetes, regulate hormones, increase cell repair and regeneration, and improve mood, amongst a variety of other health benefits.
Sound bath meditation is a unique style of meditation in which requires little to no effort or focus on anything at all — the sound waves coming from the singing bowls do the work for you, slowing your brain waves to reach deep meditative states. Once in a state of restfulness, allow the warm, supportive, and nourishing atmosphere of the Spiral Goddess Collective to deeply explore your inner self and restore your whole being.
You will spend the duration of the class lying in a comfortable position, typically on your back, so we highly encourage you to come ready to be cozy. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring anything you’d like to personalize your “rest nest”. Bolsters and blankets will be provided but if you have an eye pillow, favorite blanket, or anything else that will help make it easier for you to relax, please bring these along. If you tend to get cold, you might like to bring cozy socks or an extra layer.
