There’s nothing quite like stepping outside on a cold night and being met with the glow of sparkling lights! Volunteers and sponsors work to make Downtown Bangor inviting and cheerful during the darkest part of the year.Look for bright spots around downtown – Candy Cane Lane at Intown Plaza on Harlow Street, North Pole Rest at the top of Park Street, Norumbega Park, and of course, West Market Square.

Bold, Bright Snowflakes
With the presence of plentiful hydro power, The City of Bangor became an earlier adopter of lighting the dark winter months with festive lighting. Over the past few years, we’ve been nurturing a return to this tradition in Downtown Bangor!
This year we added 40 snowflakes, hand made by LeMonde studios, to brighten Downtown’s skyscape! We are grateful for the help of City of Bangor Public Works, who mounted them and added outlets to several street lamps so we could light up new areas Downtown.
We would love your support our support helping us keep Bangor merry and bright by sponsoring a snowflake this season for you or someone you love. Each snowflake sponsor will have their business or name added to an decorated snowflake, hung around the tree in West Market Square and will be recognized on this page!

Hollywood Casino Holiday Light Show
A musical and colorful animated light show in West Market Square sponsored by Hollywood Casino, which can be experienced daily between noon and 9pm.

Everyone loves the extra sparkle that lighting brings to one of Downtown Bangor’s favorite parks! Swag lights and lights on streetlights brighten our hearts in every season! Sponsors get to brighten up our lives (literally!) and are recognized on banners hung in the parkway.

Every year a team of volunteers work together to install winter lights, create light trees for planters, and fill deck flower boxes with evergreen boughs to make Downtown a little brighter and merrier during the winter season.
