New Renaissance Singers Presents 2024 Winter Concert: “Here Comes the Light”
Join the New Renaissance Singers for an evening of beautiful choral music celebrating the joy and warmth of the holiday season.
New Renaissance Singers announces their 33rd annual winter concert, “Here Comes the Light.” The performance will be held at the Universal Unitarian Society of Bangor at 120 Park Street, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 7:00 PM.
Under the direction of Molly J. Webster, and featuring a new accompanist Jack Lagasse, the ensemble will present a diverse program that blends traditional holiday favorites with contemporary pieces. Highlights include the uplifting “Here Comes the Light,” the serene “Hodie Christus,” and the timeless “O Holy Night.” The concert will also feature the Nigerian carol “Betelehemu,” bringing a vibrant, rhythmic energy to the evening.
In addition, NRS is delighted to welcome talented young singers from Bangor Area Youth Choirs as their featured guests. They will perform several pieces from their upcoming show slated for January 11th.
New Renaissance Singers is a non-audition, multigenerational chorus serving Central and Eastern Maine. They welcome all who share a love of singing and believe in nurturing a love of music within the community. The group is known for its varied repertoire, which ranges from Renaissance to contemporary works.
