New Renaissance Singers invites the community to their spring concert, Hope Lingers Here, on Saturday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the UUSB at 120 Park Street, Bangor.
Directed by Molly J. Webster, this season’s concert features a mix of contemporary and familiar pieces that are meant to bring listeners a sense of hope and resilience. With piano accompaniment by Jack Lagasse, the program includes “Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell, and Rollo Dilworth’s setting of Langston Hughes’s “The Dream Keeper.”
Also featured are “May It Be,” from The Lord of the Rings soundtrack, and “Stand Up,” a powerful anthem of strength and solidarity. The choir will also perform “Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World,” made popular by Israel Kamakawiwo‘ole and conclude the evening with Jacob Narverud’s “Be the Change.”
Fans can also look forward to our customary gift basket raffle. Admission is a suggested donation of $10.
