All Roads Music Festival brings their renowned circle format to the BAE Ballroom stage featuring four of Maine’s most beautiful and intentional voices. Guided by a moderator to create time for audience questions and comment, each artist will perform two original songs followed by a cover in their unique style in three rounds. The artists take turns performing their work, sharing stories of their life and inspiration, and engaging our audience to reveal their songwriting process.
The Maine Songwriter’s Circle is a core event of the All Roads Music Festival, an annual 2-day celebration of Maine + Indie music.
The Songwriter’s Circle highlights an essential part of our music scene, and one that often gets overlooked; the singer-songwriter.
Our September 8th performance will feature performances by:
Sara Trunzo – is a country and northeastern singer-songwriter who calls Maine home, periodically and perennially. Her third record, Cabin Fever Dream, came out in September 2021 and appeared on Folk Alliance International and Americana radio charts. Also a community organizer and consultant, she is a co-founder of Veggies For All and Waldo County Bounty, both rural food security organizations
Stesha Cano – “Easy to listen to, hard to define, singer-songwriter Stesha Cano has been making music in multiple genres for nearly two decades. Whether she’s singing jazz standards, rhythm and blues or modern pop, Stesha breathes life into every syllable. She’ll take a song you’ve heard a hundred times and stretch it in new directions – maybe the beat has changed, or the inflection of a phrase, an edge that wasn’t there in the original. Her own compositions are as crisp as the stars and as deep as the ocean, memorable yet mysterious, calling you back for a second listen, and a third.”
Alice Limgoes – With a style that is equal parts Joni Mitchell and Fiona Apple, Alice Limoges has been singing since before she could walk. Whether performing her poetic songs about love and nature, or shining a light on mental health, Alice Limoges’s canon is lit up by her unique, soulful voice and jazz inflected, textural instrumentals. A natural storyteller, Alice can easily draw the crowd into a warm intimacy and make the audience feel emotions buried deep inside. She has released 3 original albums, toured festivals and colleges across North America, and even performed on Jon Samson’s Grammy Award winning album. Her self-produced EP, “Renascence”, chronicling her return home to Maine from NYC during the pandemic, will be released in June 2023.
