DESCRIPTION:The Bangor Public Library and SCORE Northern Maine will host
  an online presentation on Services to Assist Start-Up Food Businesses\,
  by Beth Calder\, Ph.D.\, Extension Food Science Specialist at the Unive
 rsity of Maine Cooperative Extension and the School of Food &amp\; Agric
 ulture\, on Wednesday\, March 1 at 12:00 PM.\n\nBeth will provide inform
 ation about the resources available at UMaine to help people start a foo
 d business. UMaine Food Testing Services offers a team approach to provi
 de food testing services and specializes in working with small and start
 -up food businesses\, working with businesses across the U.S. Beth Calde
 r assists the food industry with research\, food testing and educational
  programs in areas of food safety and technology\, working closely with 
 regulatory agencies (Maine Department of Agriculture\, Conservation &amp
 \; Forestry\, FDA) and agricultural organizations (MOFGA\, Maine Cheese 
 Guild) to further assist farmers and Maine food business growth. She als
 o provides assistance to start-up food businesses in understanding licen
 sing\, regulations and food safety considerations\, and teaches sanitati
 on and HACCP workshops. Questions regarding food safety\, licensing\, an
 d other related topics are welcome at this presentation.\n\nThis event i
