DESCRIPTION:Entry Point to the World: An Exploration of Maritime BangorT
 his walk will take place along Bangor’s waterfront and will explore th
 e history and evolution of the waterfront and Bangor’s maritime cultur
 e\, starting with pre-Colonial Native American history and ending at the
  modern day. We will also discuss how different aspects of the waterfron
 t and surrounding development relate to the ideas of Jane Jacobs. The Ch
 air of Bangor’s Historic Preservation Commission (an archaeologist by 
 trade) will be discussing the historical aspects of the walk\, with Bang
 or Planning staff accompanying to provide supporting information about J
 ane Jacobs’ ideas. The walk will be short in distance\, starting at Br
 oad Street Park and end at the intersection of Front Street and Railroad
  Street (about 0.35 miles). Attendees should bring sun protection and wa
