SUMMARY:Halcyon &amp\; Friends Present the Dohnanyi Piano Quintet and Th
 e Future is Here
DESCRIPTION:Join Halcyon and friends for an evening of chamber music\, f
ilm\, and storytelling. For the first half of the program\, Halcyon will
be joined by special guest and pianist\, Marlene McCarthy for a perform
ance of Dohnanyi’s brilliant first Piano Quintet - a rousing tour de f
orce full of soaring melodies. In the second half of the program\, Halcy
on collaborates with vocalist and NPR Tiny Desk winner\, Alisa Amador fo
r a performance of Halcyon’s latest multimedia show: The Future is Her
 e. Combining live music with film\, community voices\, and stop-motion a
nimation\, The Future is Here celebrates the ingenuity within our commun
ities through a series of vignettes that tell stories of Maine people wh
o are working on the ground to build creative\, regenerative\, and resil
ient communities in response to the climate crisis. Through this perform
ance\, Halcyon creates space for us to collectively see what our world l
ooks like when we come together to care for each other and the world aro
und us. They challenge the narratives of despair that dominate the clima
te space\, and instead amplify the action\, innovation\, creativity\, an
d determination that already exists within our community.\n\n\n\nLearn m
