this free event. We will use registration to plan the supplies we need
for this workshop.\n\n\n\nFollow Daryne on Facebook and Instagram @doodl
 erexartist.\n\n\n\nAbout Daryne\n\n\n\nDaryne Rockett\, who creates unde
 r the pseudonym Doodle Rex\, is a Maine-based mixed-media artist whose w
ork explores resilience\, justice\, connection\, and the complicated wor
k of repair. A U.S. Air Force veteran and longtime clinical social worke
r\, Daryne brings a perspective shaped by service\, advocacy\, and more
than two decades of work with people navigating trauma and healing.\n\n\
n\nA self-taught artist\, Daryne came to visual art following a brain in
jury in 2014. During a long recovery\, drawing became both a creative pr
actice and a way of rebuilding capacity. What began with short periods o
f doodling gradually developed into a multidisciplinary studio practice
 incorporating painting\, gel printing\, collage\, textiles\, image trans
fer\, and found materials.\n\n\n\nDaryne’s work frequently examines th
e relationship between individual experience and larger social systems.
Themes of freedom\, belonging\, human rights\, environmental responsibil
ity\, and collective resilience recur throughout the work\, often alongs
ide imagery drawn from nature and familiar cultural symbols.\n\n\n\nIn R
estoring Liberty\, Daryne turns to the visual language and foundational
texts of American democracy\, examining the distance between the nationâ
€™s stated ideals and the lived reality of those whose freedoms remain v
ulnerable. Rather than treating liberty as a finished inheritance\, the
work considers it something that must be continually tended\, repaired\,
defended\, and extended.\n\n\n\nDaryne lives and works in Orono\, Maine
\, and exhibits throughout Maine and beyond.
