Community Yoga at Pierce Park
With The Spiral Goddess Collective
Wednesdays, 4:30 to 5:15
July 24 through August 28
Join the Spiral Goddess Collective Curators and our Bangor community for an easy-flow yoga experience in Pierce Park this summer (by the Bangor Library). No experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome, wanted, and needed! Mats are optional, or you might choose to bring a blanket or a towel. Water, sunscreen, and bug repellent are recommended.
Yoga is everywhere, and it is many things, but most people only know the most superficial aspects of yoga—the physical practice that is presented as a workout, often in elite spaces. Yoga is so much more (breath, movement, meditation, embodiment, philosophy) and it helps us in so many ways.
Yoga helps us to connect to ourselves; it empowers us to have better boundaries, self-compassion, and empathy. Yoga builds strength, balance, and flexibility—physically and mentally. It provides us with a means to grow resilience, to embrace intuition, and to tap into our body’s natural healing abilities. Yoga provides tools to help us cope with stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and past hurts. It helps us to be present in our lives and in our bodies.
This Community Yoga program is designed to meet each mind/body where we are, to make yoga accessible and to use our public space to connect with each other and ourselves.
