 “Bobby” Charles grew up in Wayne and attended Winthrop and Maranacoo
 k High Schools\, later Dartmouth College\, Oxford University\, and Colum
 bia Law School. He taught at Harvard University’s extension school\, s
 erved in the Reagan and George HW Bush White Houses\, clerked on the U.S
 . Court of Appeals\, 9th&nbsp\;Circuit\, and is a Maine and New York law
 yer. He was also a ten-year Naval Intelligence Officer who volunteered f
 or active duty on 9-11\, later serving as Colin Powell’s Assistant Sec
 retary of State\, establishing police training operations globally. He c
 redits much of his later life to Maine teachers. In 2018\, he wrote a wi
 dely celebrated book about local Maine veterans and Maine values\, “Ea
 gles and Evergreens.” These days\, he lives in rural Maine\, glad to b
 e back\, fishing\, reading\, and writing about a place he loves.&nbsp\;
