 ancing moves and an introduction to the ancient art form and contemporar
 y practice\, followed by a fusion-style of easy-to-follow belly dance fi
 tness set to contemporary and popular music.\n\nBelly dance is an ancien
 t form of movement with roots in a variety of cultures\; it is a “danc
 e of integration” that “embraces diversity.” Traditionally belly d
 ancing was not about performing\; it was used as a shared form of person
 al\, collective\, and cultural expression. It was something practiced am
 ong groups of women and passed down from generation to generation. This 
 is the spirit that we embrace as we shake\, shimmy\, and spiral as a col
 lective in the sacred space of The Spiral Goddess Collective.\n\nBelly d
 ancing offers a way of connecting to ourselves and to each other\, and i
 n this spirit\, this series is open to children (accompanied by an adult
 ) as a way of connecting across generations. And\, while belly dancing h
 as been traditionally practiced by women\, all are welcome to attend thi
 s joyful practice!\n\nSliding scale $12\, $15\, or $18. Children 8 and o
