Dan Band. Veterans\, active military\, a nd first responders are eligible for free tickets to these concerts.\n\n \n\nGary's career is a powerhouse of artistry\, advocacy\, and unwaverin g dedication to our nation's heroes. Co-founding the legendary Steppenwo lf Theatre when he was just 18 years old\, he skyrocketed to fame as Lt. Dan in the award-winning film Forrest Gump\, earning an Emmy\, a Golden Globe\, and an Oscar nomination while cementing his Hollywood legacy wi th Apollo 13\, Ransom\, The Green Mile\, and nine seasons on CSI: NY.\n\ n\n\nInspired by his late son Mac’s music\, most of which was discover ed shortly after Mac’s passing at a young age from a rare spinal cance r on January 5\, 2024\, Gary has curated this concert to honor the power of music and healing. The concert features the Bangor Symphony Orchestr a in the first half\, including Gary Sinise narrating Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait”\, and Gary Sinise &\; The Lt. Dan Band in the second half\, with Mac’s music transcribed by Oliver Schnee\, a musica l composer and old college friend of Mac’s who also helped bring Mac s music to life.
