Event Overview:
This special event celebrates the rich intersection of language, culture, education, and art. It will highlight the resources available for learning Chinese, Arabic, ASL, and many other languages at Bangor Chinese School and the Chinese Language and Culture Center of Maine.
At the same time, we will celebrate the Chinese traditional Mid-Autumn Festival with activities such as making mooncakes, enjoying cultural performances, and sharing lunch together.
This gathering provides a unique opportunity to meet and network with a diverse community — teachers, artists, parents, students, and community members — as well as official representatives from both the United States and China.
Objectives
• Showcase the language-learning opportunities in Bangor and across Maine.
• Celebrate cultural diversity and international friendship.
• Provide hands-on cultural experiences for families and community members.
• Strengthen educational and cultural exchange between the U.S. and China.
Program Highlights
• Language & Culture Resource Showcase: Learn about programs in Chinese, Arabic, ASL, and more.
• Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration: Make mooncakes, explore traditions, and learn cultural stories.
• Performances: Students, artists, and community groups share music, dance, and art.
• Community Lunch: Enjoy delicious food together in a spirit of friendship and exchange.
• Special Guests: Meet officials, educators, and community leaders from both the U.S. and China.
