DESCRIPTION:The Wabanaki Winter Market at the Collins Center for the Art
 s (Orono\, Maine) is New England’s largest holiday gathering of Wabana
 ki artists. The popular annual December event features members of the Ma
 ine Indian Basketmakers Alliance who have received national awards\, as 
 well as new artists representing the next generation of weavers.\n\nThe 
 event provides the public with an opportunity to purchase Wabanaki art d
 irectly from the artists and to learn about these ancient traditions.\n\
 nJoin the Hudson Museum on December 9\, 2023 for a day that will showcas
 e one-of-a-kind art forms (basketry\, beadwork\, wood carving\, birchbar
 k items)\, and maple syrup as well as demonstrations\, storytelling\, tr
 aditional music\, drumming and dancing. Something for everyone!\n\nThe H
 udson Museum will be open during the event\, and visitors are encouraged
  to explore the Wabanaki Gallery where they can view the work of the anc
 estors of the contemporary artists.\n\nThe Wabanaki Winter Market is FRE
