The Downtown Wheatpaste project returns for a second year, bigger and better with more murals. Join the hunt and use the hashtag #BGRWheatpaste to track the murals on social media. The Wheatpaste mural project is made possible by the generous contributions of Waterfront Concerts, now celebrating their 10th year.

UMMA presents the twentieth annual Summer Art Camp! A fun and educational art experience held at the Museum in the heart of downtown Bangor. Weekly sessions are held in the Museum classroom and galleries. Campers will have the opportunity to view and talk
about art and participate in a wide array of hands-on art activities.

Projects include print making, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Children also enjoy time outdoors to create art in one of Bangor’s beautiful parks adjacent to UMMA. Each week is packed with activities, gallery games, scavenger hunts and a Friday reception and art show for family and friends.

Join Downtown Bangor in welcoming artists for a sidewalk art festival. In addition to a carefully curated, juried selection of artists, there will be demonstrations, live drawing,  and a Children’s Area.

Our Buoy Local Demo Tent features demonstrations of copper jewelry making, glass blowing, water color, pottery turning and more!

The Maine Discovery Museum Children’s Area features crafts and activities for children including galaxy art, weaving turtles, face painting, Bangor Symphony Orchestra instrument petting zoo, University of Maine Art Museum crafts and more!

Enjoy performances from Ten Bucks Theatre and the Maine Academy of Modern Music.

Explore the many art studios located Downtown and be sure to seek out all the new Summer 2019 wheat paste mural exhibit located through out Downtown.

Join us Sunday August 4th from 2PM to 5PM
Guest hostess and local artist Lindsay Weirich from Orrington will be teaching the class.
Lindsay is a very talented artist from the Bangor area and has taught many classes over two decades. Lindsay’s designs have been published in legions of art and craft publications. You can also find her illustrations in children’s books “Rainbow Pants” and “Sea Glass and the Lighthouse”.

This event will sell out fast so don’t wait to buy your tickets we only take the first 12 participants.
